Property recruitment in Liverpool is booming, as for the second year running, the city is named the UK’s top spot for ‘buy to let’ rental yields!

As an iconic capital of culture, traditionally famed for its music scene, architecture and football, it’s no surprise that Liverpool has fast become one of the most favoured University cities in the UK. The student population has almost doubled within the last 10 years, taking it well over 70,000 students in 2017. University cities place strongly on the league table of buy-to-let hotspots. Students are reliable tenants and can give landlords the kind of stable rental income needed to realise a healthy return on their investment.

This is fantastic news for the cities booming property market, particularly for buy-to-let investors, as the L7 postcode is voted again as top rental yield area in the UK (average 10.9%).

The L7 postcode covers the City Centre, Edge Hill, Fairfield and Kensington and its proximity to two of Liverpool’s three universities makes it a favourite for student lets.

Liverpool postcodes also dominate the top 25 buy-to-let yield table, with 2008’s European Capital of Culture making up eight of the top 25 postcodes.

This news has had a hugely positive impact on the Liverpool property recruitment scene, with the rapid growth of the cities estate agency and lettings markets, making Liverpool a lucrative place to be an estate agent, lettings agent or property manager.

This is great news for experienced property candidates, as new property vacancies open up all over the city and surrounding Merseyside and Wirral areas. The Liverpool property jobs market is now becoming more competitive than ever. With an increase in vacancies, employers fight to attract the best talent, with many agents naming staff attraction for skilled property professionals as their toughest barrier to growth.

With the continuing property developments in and around the city, and with construction already underway for residential developments such as the infinity towers, the Liverpool buy-to-let market is showing no signs of slowing down. There is no doubt that this ongoing construction has created an influx of unique property jobs in Liverpool. It certainly looks like 2018 is going to be an exciting time to work in property recruitment in Liverpool!
