The Most and Least Expensive Properties Sold in Liverpool in Summertime 2018
The property market in Liverpool can be very dynamic, particularly in the increasing climate of development that the city is undergoing. Investors and property developers are currently flocking to this North-West city to get a piece of the financial action and secure strong investments. Therefore, the property market within the city is constantly fluctuating and can produce some interesting figures and comparison points for those assessing the current state of affairs.
Claire Miller and Emilia Bona, writers for the Liverpool Echo newspaper have identified two such trends which depict the highs and lows of the property market, exposing the most and least expensive housing buildings sold within the city in July 2018. The property that took the top spot for the most expensive sale that particular month went to a block of student flats which made a whopping £1.1 million. This student accommodation, based in Grinfield Street, can house up to 27 students and is the start of plans for further developments at the Edge Hill site. Although it was in fact student halls that took the top position for the most expensive properties sold in July, the remainder of the properties on the top 10 list were in fact luxury homes based in some of Merseyside’s most desirable locations. Two properties in exclusive Wirral locations came in second and third place on the list making £900,000 and £680,000 respectively. From there we have properties such as a secluded 4 bedroom home with a vast private drive and huge garden space in West Derby fetching £575,000 and the list goes on with more desirable houses with an expensive price tag to go along with them. However, in the grand scheme of things some of these buildings may be considered a steal when you compare it to the most expensive residential sale in England in July 2018. The top spot for the entire country went to a terraced property based in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea that cost an eye-watering £18,500,000!
But isn’t all lavish properties and epic business ventures on the Liverpool property scene, there are chances to grab a real bargain when it comes to residential properties. A terrace house in Anfield claimed the title for the cheapest sale (or biggest bargain) in Merseyside in July coming in a £28,000. It was closely followed by other residential sales such as a flat in Southport which sold for £29,000 or a terrace house in Bootle which fetched £33,000. So what do all these facts, figures and price tags mean? Well to me it shows that the city is diverse. It has potential to make investors big money but it is also a place that people live, work and build their lives in. It covers all ends of the spectrum from those looking to splash the cash to those searching for a more economical place to call home. It has opportunities to make big money but it can also be a very affordable place to live for first time buyers, those with families and many more. Liverpool really has it all.
