We have an opportunity for a Property Accounts Assistant to work within a well-established commercial property company based in Cheater. Working within a friendly accounts team, you will be responsible for the Management of the accounts for a select commercial property portfolio including. Daily duties might look like this:
- Accounts receivable
- Processing daily bank statements and receipting income
- Occasionally paying in cheques
- Investigation of unknown or bounced receipts.
- Accounts payable
- Raising and coding expense invoices to be approved by property managers.
- Weekly payment runs.
- Investigation of bounced/returned payments.
- Credit control – chasing tenants, referring to property managers and liaising with bailiffs as necessary.
- Ad hoc utility recharges and utility account reconciliations
- Raising ad hoc income invoices for balancing service charge, insurance, etc.
- Raising management fees including commission on rent and service charge management
- Monthly client account reconciliations and month-end client statements
- Quarterly client statements and VAT reporting
- Service charge reconciliations and production of service charge reports – calculation of accruals and prepayments when necessary.
- Service charge budgeting and variance analysis.
- Cashflow management
- Provide information and reports as required to clients and their accountants.
- Liaising with clients, tenants, suppliers, accountants, and other third parties to assist with complex queries.
- Monitoring of the accounts inbox – directing invoices, statements and queries to the appropriate property accounts manager or property manager
- System house-keeping – ensure data and information is current or updated as needed.
- Dealing with phone calls from clients, tenants, suppliers, etc.
- File close of period reports and bank statements.
- Assisting property managers with finance-based matters or queries related to your managed portfolio.
- Assisting in the urgent matters of colleagues’ portfolios during periods of annual leave
- Compliance with RICS regulations
Our client is looking for a motivated and professional candidate who comes from an accounts background, AAT qualified ideally level 3. Experience within the property sector will be a bonus!
They are offering a salary of £28,000 - £32,000, plus benefits, a great working environment and parking allowance.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9-5.30pm (5pn finish on Fridays).
