A Technical Manager is required to oversee the Geotechnical department of a Liverpool based consultancy. This pivotal role in the organisation will focus around the management and delivery of soil and groundwater contaminant projects. Requiring a high level of technical expertise and proven team management skills it’s an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take their career to the next level.
The role will focus around the technical issues arising from geotechnical projects and will incorporate a variety of duties including designing investigations, reviewing and producing reports, evaluating and assessing potential risks, assessing potential human risks and environmental impact and managing costs. You’ll also take responsibility for the training and development of the wider team.
It’s fundamental that you have significant project management experience within the geotechnical department of a consultancy or contractor. As the Technical Manager your specialist knowledge will be relied upon to supervise the team in the production of Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV reports and you’ll ensure quality and consistency at all times. You’ll also take the lead client side and attend site meetings, take responsibility for business development and analyse costs.
With a strong academic background, you’ll have a degree or similar in Geology, Environmental Science or Geoscience. An MSc would also be an advantage. You’ll also have a proven track record in a similar role that demonstrates your awareness of the implications of the overall project and the financial constraints associated with the production of reports. Excellent people skills and ability to mentor and motivate the team will ensure that quality standards are adhered to.
